Who Are We?

Universal Multipurpose Society and Fikr Foundation were established in 2010. Both organizations are registered under the Society Registration Act 1860 and the Bombay Public Trust Act 1950. For the last decade, both organizations have successfully worked for the education, health and socio-economic upliftment of underprivileged people specifically children. The organization has also been honoured internationally for its excellent work in the fields of education, health and socio-economics.
in three states of Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh.
Smile Train Sanstha, UMS in collaboration with Chiratna Trust Bangalore performed free surgery (plastic surgery) for cleft lip, and cleft palate under the Clip Lip/Palette project. In all three states many people suffering from the problem of cleft lip and cleft palate took advantage of this project. All the facilities were given free of cost to the beneficiaries.
Under the “Akshaya Project” ,a campaign for awareness and diagnosis of tuberculosis was conducted with the support of Global Fund RCC Round-9 and Mamta Health Institute for Mother and Child Delhi. The main objective of this project was to go door to door and provide information about tuberculosis, as well as to find potential tuberculosis patients and get them diagnosed, then if needed provide free treatment in government hospital. This Akshaya Project was successful in stopping the spread of tuberculosis. Also a campaign for awareness and diagnosis of HIV/AIDS was conducted. The main objective of this project was to provide information about HIV/AIDS, find potential patients, counsel them, get their blood tested, and if the test is positive, provide free treatment.

In addition the organizations are consistently striving for facilitating basic education to deprived children from primary to higher level education including employment counselling to youth, assistance to widows, orphans, health check-up camps, blood donation camps, tree plantation and effective activities for the well being of people and their children. Our priority is to make literacy reach every home. Hence, we are moving ahead with the slogan Mission "We Read; We Teach”
Our vision is to prepare deprived children, especially those living in slums, on the streets, for basic literacy and numerical skill development by giving them a quality educational base. We are making a small effort to especially empower the deprived children by providing all the resources and facilities required for this mission.
Literacy & Education are everyone's right, hence no individual/child in society should be deprived of Education due to Socio-Economic reasons. It is often seen that migrant workers/laborers keep their children away from education due to unavoidable reasons.
We are committed like many other concerned stakeholders to curb illiteracy. Along with the primary education of these children, special attention has also been paid to overall grooming, skill development so that they can become self-reliant.
Considering their challenges of Logistics, affordability, lack of resources for acquiring education, our both repute organizations have initiated the mission of imparting foundational education and life skills to them at their destination which unknowingly removes many hurdles in the path. By facilitating basic resources required, there are no further financial burden on their families. We provide FOC books, notebooks, teaching materials, school bags, etc. Ultimately, the objective is to identify & empower the talent of these underprivileged children by overall development activities, thus uplifting them to face the challenges of mainstream world.
Mission PHPH is a blessed gift by Almighty Creator for such deprived children .
